Can I book a trip on short notice?
Yes, trips can be booked on short notice depending on availability. However, we recommend booking in advance to guarantee your preferred date and time.
What is the cancellation policy?
A $200 non-refundable deposit is due to book your charter. This deposit secures your trip date and time.
We understand that plans can change, and we do our best to be fair while also respecting the time reserved for your trip. Our cancellation fees are:
More than 7 days prior to your charter: No additional charges beyond the deposit.
Between 7 days and 24 hours prior to your charter: 50% of the total charter price.
Within 24 hours of your charter or no-shows: 100% of the total charter price.
All cancellations due to weather or mechanical issues will be made at the captain’s discretion. If the captain does have to cancel due to either reason a refund will be issued.
How to Cancel
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to keeneyecharters@gmail.com to be valid. The date and time your email is received will determine any applicable cancellation fees.
When and where will I meet the captain?
When you make a reservation a date and start time will be set. My boats are at Bohicket Marina, address is 1880 Andell Bluff Blvd. Seabrook Island, SC 29455. Pick ups from other locations can be made but arrangements must be made in advance with the captain. Additional charges will apply..
What should I bring?
The captain will supply everything necessary for fishing. For your comfort I suggest bringing light rain gear, sunglasses, hat, camera, soft sole shoes (non marking soles please) and motion sickness medication if needed. You are responsible for your own food and drinks, there is a cooler on the boat and ice is provided. You may want to bring a cooler if you plan to take your catch home with you. Arrangements can be made for food/drink to be provided at an additional cost. Please do not bring spray sun screen bring lotion instead.
What to wear?
You need to dress appropriately for being outdoors on the water. Temperatures are known to fluctuate while on the water, dress in layers so you will be prepared for the day as it unfolds. A rain jacket is never a bad idea.
How large of a party can you accommodate?
The US Coast Guard regulates the number of passengers on the boat, the maximum number of passengers is 6 (this does not include the captain). It does get crowded when 6 people are attempting to fish, I recommend 4 or less anglers to maximize the experience.
Children
Here at Keen Eye Charters, we pride ourselves on creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for all of our guests. While we welcome children aboard, we believe it's important to consider the unique demands and duration of a charter trip.
These trips typically last several hours, often in open waters and may require considerable patience and physical effort. Young children, particularly those under 5, may find the duration, the potential for rough waters and the necessary safety precautions challenging.
Our top priority is ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all our guests. All children ages 12 and under are required to wear a life vest per state law. We wholeheartedly welcome families to get out and enjoy the outdoors but we typically advise that some of our trips may not be suitable for children under the age of 5. We're more than happy to discuss individual circumstances and make accommodations where possible.
At Keen Eye Charters we prioritize safety and comfort for all on board. Our goal is to provide a fishing experience filled with fun, excitement, and lasting memories for the whole family. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you aboard.
If you’re interested in catching dinner?
Please note that we are apart of the SC conservation so we practice catch and release on all inshore game fish caught in state waters with no exceptions. We highly recommend booking an offshore charter if you are looking to catch and keep fish.
Fish cleaning
